Iceland’s compact capital combines colourful streets and a lively cultural scene with easy access to geothermal pools, ocean views and the country’s volcanic landscapes.
Two airports serve the Reykjavík area: Keflavík International Airport for most international flights and Reykjavík Airport for domestic services. The airports are about 50 km apart.
Walking is highly recommended in Reykjavík. The centre is compact, many attractions are within walking distance, and a long coastal pathway circles much of the city for walking and cycling.

Pride and Prejudice is an 1813 novel of manners written by Jane Austen. The novel follows Elizabeth Bennet, who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness.
Mr Bennet, owner of the Longbourn estate in Hertfordshire, has five daughters, but his property can only be passed to a male heir. His family therefore faces poverty upon his death, making the pressure for at least one daughter to marry well a force that drives the story.
Jane Austen was an English writer. Although Austen was widely read in her lifetime, she published her works anonymously. The most urgent preoccupations of her bright, young heroines are courtship and marriage. Austen herself never married. Her best-known books include Pride and Prejudice (1813) and Emma (1816).
